Long
Division Director
Barb, I received NCIG's response to our renewal adequacy comments. My comments are
as follows;
1. It was noted in my previous letter that NCIG has not filed a corporate report with
the Secretary of States Office. Stover states that the DMG should be ale to confirm
that NCIG is now in good standing with the Secretary of State. I cal he Office on
8/12/96, and the permit status is still revoked. Please have the operator confirm if
a corporate report has been filed with the Secretary of States Office.
2. NCIG had some comments regarding the reclamation cost estimate. They note that
tasks 1-4 (disposing of some rocks, backfilling the east cut slope and constructing
dozer slots) tasks 12-15 (topsoil replacement) and task 23 (seal and plug monitoring
wells) should not be included in the bond estimate because the tasks were completed
in 1995. These tasks have not gone through the appropriate phase bond release
procedure, therefore, they must remain in the reclamation cost estimate.
Please let me know if you or the operation have any additional questions.
c:\wp51\misc\960912
