<br />Bowie Resources Limited, P.O. Box 483, Paonia, CO, 81428, has submitted a complete
<br />application for a technical revision to the Division of Minerals and Geology for its approved
<br />Bowie No. 2 Mine, mining permit No. C-96-083. The proposed revision provides use of a
<br />clarification agent to assure compliance with discharge permit requirements. The NALCO
<br />7880 clarification agent is Aluminum based. The water which is treated with the clarification
<br />agent is discharged from Pond C. This clarified water flows into the Deer Trail Ditch and or
<br />the Fire Mountain Canal.
<br />The mine facilities are located north of State Highway 1336 near the town of Bowie, CO. A
<br />pump station, three sediment ponds and unit train loadout are located south of State Highway
<br />1336. The Fire Mountain Canal is located south of the mine facilities and north of the unit
<br />train loadout. The North Fork of the Gunnison River is located south of the mine permit
<br />boundary. The mine permit area is located on the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Bowie
<br />Quadrangle map within the following sections.

<br />The Bowie No. 2 Mine permit area contains 5,076 acres of land, 2,474 acres of private
<br />surface and 2,602 acres of Federal surface. Private minerals within the proposed permit area
<br />encompass 1958 acres with Federal minerals accounting for the balance of 3118 acres.
