The monitoring and compliance points plans and the drainage
control discussion are embodied in Phis letter, except for a map and cross section which are also
attached. This submittal reflects previous commitments made by Cemex, related to the disposal
of cement kiln dust in C-pit.
Monitoring and Compliance Points
The 1999 Technical Revision concerning CKD disposal in C-pit was approved with A-pit water
being both the monitoring and compliance point for comparison with applicable ground water
standards for the water quality parameters identified by the Division. Monitoring of A-pit since
the 1999 TR approval indicates compliance with the standards.
At the request of the Division, Cemex has re-evaluated the suitability of A-pit water to serve this
purpose. Abase map was created, water surface elevations were surveyed and cross sections
were created.
