I
have reviewed it for technical adequacy, and will outline the items
which need to be addressed or clarified in the paragraphs below.
I have tried to be as complete as possible, in order to minimize
the number of letters to you, and to try to be as timely as
possible in communicating my questions. In the list below, if no
reference to an item under a particular exhibit appears, there is
no concern at this time.
Application form
Item number 1.2 on page 1 asks for the applicant's IRS number, but
it was not included. The recent permit transfer form shows that
\ the applicant's company uses number #84-1113060. Please verify
p`L ~ whether this is correct for this application form.
Exhibit B - Site Description
Vegetation and Soils: The soil description is complete, and
represents a site that is well-drained, but possibly very erodible.
'Slopes and drainage during mining is a concern addressed later in
this letter. The vegetation description is also complete, but
appears to only describe the "potential" vegetation in each soil
type. Please briefly describe the present vegetation.
Structures: The site is described as having a scalehouse. Are
there scales involved also? (The application does not mention
scales except in the Fremont County C.U.P.) Who owns the
scalehouse/scales? Remember to include any above or below ground
communication or utility structures, along either side of the
highway, if they are within 200 feet of the permit.
Water Resources: How will onsite drainage be directed or
controlled? This is not explained well here, in Exhibit C, or on
the Mining Map.
