''PN: 50363PE
December 8, 2005
Page 3
The analysis indicates that the theoretical factor of safety of the slope is about 3.36 which is an
indication that the proposed geometry will be stable.
The analysis above is appropriate for any cross section of the above geometry adjacent to the right-
of-way fence, well location and above ground utility poles.
We understand that there are subsurface gas lines buried about four (4) feet below the ground
surface in some areas where truck traffic will cross the lines and in other areas where truck traffic
will pazallel the gas line alignment. We assume that the gas lines are steel pipe. We did not perform
a specific analysis of the pipe and loaded truck scenario, but it is highly unlikely that the proposed
truck traffic will have any influence on the integrity of the pipe due to the depth of burial of the line.
Any truck traffic that travels pazallel to the lines that is further than four (4) feet horizontally away
from the line alignment will have no influence on the line. If any of the soils in the vicinity of the gas
lines become soft and or very moist to saturated, it may be prudent to consider construcfion of a
concrete apron over the lines for added protection.
It is our opinion that the natural gas pipeline will not be negatively influenced by the gravel mining
operations provided that the geometry analyzed above is constructed.
Please contact us if you have any questions, or if we maybe of additional service.
~~
F~
~~,
i F~r,~:.,.3w.'~
Cc ~~~'~• :N1r..
