Begej
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division
423 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203
HAYDEN-GULCH MINE. File No. C-80-003
Dear Ms. Begej:
---p-i.~
III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
5731 State Highway 13
Meeker, Colorado 81641
(303) 824.4451
We have reviewed some of the Division's concerns addressed in our
December 1, 1986 telephone conversation and make the fo]lowing comments:
Loadout Facility
1. The downdip groundwater monitoring well will be re-established
prior to the next sampling period.
2. The amount of coal left at the loadout is irrelevant to the
continued maintenance of the sediment control system. Ultimately,
the coal will be sold or leveled and compacted.
Minecita
1. We feel the extent of rip-rap on ditch 3 is suitable, as it is
located at the confluence of the major sub-drainages. Yampa
Mining informs us that the calculations do not indicate a need
for further rip-rap in areas above the present limit of rip-rap.
2. Yampa Mining has, to our satisfaction, established drainage
benches and ripped on the contour those areas of concern that were
drill seeded vertically.
3. Any work not completed on the western ditch will be completed
next year, according to the approved plan, when weather and soil
conditions allow the work to be completed.
