M-77210
WRITTEN NOTICE OF PROTEST
Dear Mr. Hernandez:
As legal counsel for Concerned Citizens for Williams Canyon, inc.. please
be advised that said organization does protest and object to the issuance of
a permit to Castle Concrete.
The objections raised by members of the organization are as follows:
A. The dust and sediment which is now being emitted from the existing
Quarry constitutes significant health and environmental problems. On days of
high winds, which are numerous in the area, the dust plume from the Quarry
appears to extend for one half mile from the pit.
B. The members believe Castle will be unable to comply with 34-32-115(4)(a)
Vol 14 CRS, as amended. The three pits now existing in El Paso County are
unsightly, and do not appear to be capable ~ rehabilitation, and contribute
significantly to dust pollution in the area.
Thank You.
RPR/rh
.Attorney at Law
