<br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology has issued a proposed decision <br />to approve a.technical revision to the mining and reclamation plans for the <br />West Elk Mine, Permit No. C-80-007, operated by Mountain Coal Company, under <br />the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. <br />The proposed technical revision (TR-64) was submitted by Mountain Coal Company <br />on February 2, 1993 for the West Elk Mine. The affected area is located in <br />portions of Sections 9, 10, 16, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 <br />and 34, T13S, R90 West of the 6th P.M., in Gunnison County. <br />The subject technical revision addresses Mountain Coal Company's responses to <br />stipulations for its permit renewal, including Winding Gap North Fork <br />depletion calculations, mine site drainage recalculations and modifications, <br />and soil stockpile volumes and locations. <br />Copies of the proposed technical revision are available for review at the <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology office, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203. Any person who has an interest which is or <br />may be adversely affected may request a formal hearing regarding this proposed <br />decision. Requests for a formal hearing must be made in writing within ten <br />(10> days of this publication and shall state with reasonable specificity the <br />reasons for the request and objections to the proposed decision. <br />
