C-80-007, Minor Revision No. 169, Parking Lot Extension
Deaz Christine:
III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
999
/\
Mountain Coal Company (MCC) requests Minor Revision No. 168 to extend the office/bathhouse parking lot
approximately I S feet to the south (bY 290 feet long) and approximately 80 Ceet to the east (bY 110 feet wide),
adding approximately 80 new parking spaces. Surface drainage will be to the south into ditch Dl-2 to be relocated
to the new south edge of the parking lot. A french drain will also be reinstalled in this area.
Both the parking lot and the ditch will be atrfaced with approximately three inches of 3/4-inch gravel this fall.
Approximately nine inches of 1.5-inch roadbase will be placed as the parking lot base. As weather permits next
spring, the parking lot will beasphalt-paved and the ditch will be shotcreted.
Approximately six-inches (or all available) topsoil will be salvaged (approximately 250 yards) and placed in the
topsoil pile on the lower refuse pile bench. As the weather and project schedule overlap allow, MCC may try to
live-haul a few shrub clttmps to the west side of the lower refuse pile, currently being covered with topsoil.
Approximately 1,750 cubic yards of subsoil will be cut and placed in the Sylvester Gulch stockpile to achieve the
designed parking lot and ditch grades.
MCC would appreciate the Division's assistance in estimating a reasonable reclamation bond for the additional
parking lot surfacing (1,460 square yards) and four light poles (2 of 4 existing poles to be relocated). Pavement
and gravel will be buried on site at final reclamation.
