NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION
The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology has issued a proposed decision
to approve a technical revision to the mining and reclamation plans for the
New Horizon Mine, Permit No. C-81-008, operated by Western Fuels-Colorado,
under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of
1979. The proposed technical revision (TR-10) was submitted by Western
Fuels-Colorado, on November 23, 1992 for the New Horizon Mine. The affected
area is located in portions of Sections.25 and 36, Township 47 North, Range 16
West and portions of Section 6, Township 46 North, Range 15 West, N.M.P.M. in
Montrose County.
The subject technical revision addresses an incidental boundary change at the
New Horizon Mine 2 facilities area and the approval of a land use change for
14 acres, MOL, from rangeland to industrial land fill use at the New Horizon
Mine 1 area.
Copies of the proposed technical revision are available for review at the
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology office, 1313 Sherman Street,
Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203. Any person who has an interest which is or
may be adversely affected may request a formal hearing regarding this proposed
decision. Requests for a formal hearing must be made in writing within ten
(10> days of this publication and shall state with reasonable specificity the
reasons for the request and objections to the proposed decision.
