<br />Oakridge Energy, [nc., whose office is located at 278 Sawyer Drive, Suite lA, Durango, CO 81301
<br />(telephone (970) 385-4451 has filed an application for bond and liability release with the Colorado
<br />Division of Minerals and Geology for the Carbon Junction Mine (permit C-92-080). A copy of the
<br />bond release application is available for public review at the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder's
<br />Office, La Plata County Courthouse, 1060 Second Avenue, Durango, CO 81302, and at the Colorado
<br />Division of Minerals and Geology, 1313 Sherman St., Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, phone
<br />(303) 866-3567 during the review period. The mining and reclamation permit was approved July 30,
<br />1993. The reclamation bond is a letter of credit in the amount of $816,526.00. The legal description
<br />of the permit azea is as follows: a tract of land located in SeMion 33, T34'h N, R9W, Section 33, T35N,
<br />R9W, and Section 4, T34N, R9W, North of the Ute Line, New Mexico Principal Meridian, La Plata
<br />County, Colorado; being more particulazly described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of
<br />said Section 33, T35N; Thence S 89°55' 10" W, 513.29 feet along the south line of said Section 33,
<br />T35N; Thence S IH°14'00" W, 3334.13 feet to the East 1/16 Corner common to the said Section 33,
<br />T34'hN and said Section 4; Thence S 03°17'33" W, 1137.79 feet along the east line of NW'/eNE'/. of
<br />said Section 4, to the Northeast I/l6 corner of said Section 4; Thence S 79°49'43" W, 1092.45 feet
<br />along the south line of the NW'/.NE'/, of said Section 4 to the Center North 1/16 Corner of Said
<br />Section 4; Thence S 79°23'29" W, 916.43 feet along the south line of the NE'/aNW'/a of Said Section

<br />north line of said Lot 19 to the east line of said Section 33, T35N; Thence S 01°59'33" W, 680.17 feet,
<br />more or less, along the east line of said Section 33, T35N to the point of beginning, containing 253.463
<br />acres, more or less. The U.S.G.S. 7.5 minute quadrangles titled "Durango East" and "Loma Linda"
<br />contain the permit area of the mine. The mine site is located two miles southeast of the Durango city
<br />limits, midway up Carbon Junction Canyon, on Ewing Mesa. This is approximately one mile east of
<br />the Highway 160-550 business route junction, lying one mile east of the Animas River. Phase I, Il, and
<br />111 bond release is sought for approximately two acres within the permit azea. The area contains the
<br />former explosives pad and access road constructed in 1982. All explosives have been removed and the
<br />site has not been used since 1986. The only operations at this area since that time have been limited to
<br />maintenance. The surface land owner wishes to retain the azea in the current configuration to facilitate
<br />development of the property. The bond and liability release seek acknowledgment of the facilities
<br />utility for the post-mining land use and release of reclamation liability for the facility and area.
<br />Oakridge Energy is not requesting a reduction in reclamation bond amount for the release of this facility
<br />and area. Anyone with an interest may submit written wmments or objections within 30 days of the
<br />last publication of this notice. All comments, objections, and requests must be submitted in writing to
<br />the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology at the above address. Published in The Durango
