~_ = variance of reference area data
1 sZS = variance of revegetated area data
n4 = number of observations of reference area data set
rh = number of observations of revegetated area data set
For reclaimed pasturelarrl, cover and production will be compared to cover aryl
production on the pastureland reference area. For rangeland, a weic~ted average
will be generated for Dover and production for all the reclaimed sites in the
affected area and for all the oorrespondirx3 reference areas. Both a weighted
average and pooled variance will be c~uted using the Wyoming Deparbrnsit of
Ehvirorum_ntal quality, Lard Quality Division, C~ideline No. 2, March 1979
revision.
Zhe approved shrub density ~tanda*+j for rangeland is 1000 stems per acre (see
State Program submission dated June 4, 1982 accepted August 4, 1982). the
species diversity StarrL*r7 for rangeland states that: at least 4 species will
make up 64~ of the relative percent oong~osition in the reclaimed plant cortununity
and no single species will contribute more than 40~ of the relative coaq~osition
(see State Program submission dated December 17, 1984 arx3 Midterm review February
3, 1984). Zhe species diversity standard for pastureland states: nol single
species shall exceed 75 percent relative production and perennial grasses shall
provide at least 25 percent relative production. Shrub density standards only
apply to rangelands.
Annual reclamation reports will be sutanitted by March 15 each year. Durinq the
liability period, CYOC will obtain wver, production a~ woody plant density data
on areas which have been revegetated for three (3) years. The parameter of cover
will be assessed using an inclined ten-point frame. Production will be
determined by clipping three (3) randomly placed plots per trarvsect. Samples
will be oven dried, weighed to the nearest 0.1 gram and plot values will be
averaged for each trarLSect. Woody plant density will be determined by counting
individual woody plants rooted within 2 X 50 meter tsansects. Data relative to
soil oorditions (soil surface factors) will be submitted along with 3 year old
vegetation data periodically.
MR 91-65 Permit Renewal 780-136-3 Revised 02/20/91
