iii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
DIVISION OF MINERALS AND GEOLOGY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Phone: (303) 866-3567
FAX: (3031832-8106
July 21, 1993
TO: Dave Berry
FROM: Janet Binns~\~
RE: Colowyo (CS1-019) Proposed Postmining Contour Changes (TR-22).
OF COQ
,~~ R
Nc
'•~.,~~
Roy ROmer
Governor
Michael 8. Long
Division Director
Colowyo has proposed to modify the post-mining contours at the Colowyo mine. One
significant change to this is the creation of an additional drainage to the reconstructed
Streeter Gulch drainage. Since Susan Morrison will be out of the office for several weeks,
Larry Routten wanted to pass this through you to ensure the operator has sized, protected,
and designed this drainage appropriately.
The operator submitted Maps 19, 20a, 33„ and 33a. I have pencilled in the previously
approved contours on Map 19. The proposed drainage did not exist prior to mining.
Please take a quick look at the submittals and let me know (preferably by July 22, 1993)
what additional information you need the operator to submit. I would like to know if the
orientation of the drainage and the confluence angle would be appropriate. The slope to
the south of the "West Tributary to Streeter Gulch" appears rather uniform. Do you
perceive problems with this configuration?
STATE OF COLORADO
Thanks
