C-$0-OU'1
Dear Mr. Boulay:
~~~ I~~I~~I~~II~~ I~I
999
Mountain Coal Company (MCC) requests a minor revision to the West Elk Mine permit to
expand rlle parking lot which is located to the east of the breaker building. Please find enclosed a
minor revision form.
Approximately 4.50 cubic yards of fill material is needed to expand the parking lot. Initially, the
source of till material will include about 250 cubic yards from the excavation of the previously
used Floor material in the material storage bench building. The remainder of the fill needed to
expand the parking lot will come from other sources (not currently known at this time, but would
be considered extra fill material) on the mine site. The area to be filled has previously been
disturbed and all topsoil has been removed.
MCC believes that the additional 450 cubic yards of fill material to be placed to the east ofthe
breaker building will not significantly affect the cut and ftll balance in the final reclamation plan;
therefore, a bond estimate has not been included.
?lease call il' you have any questions.
>`'hristine E.
