Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, <br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on November 29, 2005, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Roadside <br />Portals was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Snowcap Coal Company, Inc.. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from [his date of filing. <br />The revision would allow for use of the unit train loadout by a [rucking company to receive freight by rail, and would allow for <br />installation of a new rail switch and limited site grading to accommodate the use. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles North of Palisade, Colorado. The permit area <br />is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 2Q 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, and 35, T10S, R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Sections 6, 7, and 18, Tl 1 S, <br />R97W, 6th PM; Portions of Sections 1, 2, I I, 12, l3, and 14, Tl I S, R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Section 1, T1S, R2E, Ute PM; <br />all in Mesa County. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of Land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Cameo and Palisade. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of <br />publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Mesa County Clerk and <br />Recorder, P.O. Box 20,000, Grand Junction, CO 81501, and at the Division office. To provide written comments, contact the <br />Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us <br />[o comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
