<br />Snowcap Coal Company, Inc., P.O. Box 1430, Palisade, CO, 81526, has submitted a complete
<br />application for a technical revision to the Division of Minerals and Geology for its Roadside North
<br />and South Portals, mining permit No. C-81-041. The proposed revision provides for the
<br />obliteration of the sewage lagoons which are located at the unit train loadout and for the
<br />placement of fill along the western side of the rail loop to facilitate the unloading of rail cars.
<br />Freight laden rail cars will be delivered to the unit train loadout and unloaded. The cargo will be
<br />temporarily stored on site or loaded onto trucks and delivered to the consumer.
<br />The Roadside mines are located approximately three miles northeast of Palisade, CO at the
<br />Interstate 70, Cameo Exit No.46. The permit area is split east and west by the Colorado River
<br />and I-70, and is encompassed within the following lands:
<br />T10S, R98W., 6~' P.M.: Sections 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35
<br />T11S, R98W., 6`" P.M.: Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, 14
<br />T11S, R97W., 6~' P.M.: Sections 6, 7, 18
<br />T1 S, R2E, Ute P.M.: Section 1

<br />The location of these sections is contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Cameo
<br />and Palisade Quadrangle maps.
<br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Mesa County
<br />Clerk and Recorder's office, 544 Rood, Grand Junction, CO. A copy of the approved permit
<br />application document, as well as the technical revision application, are available at the Denver
<br />and Grand Junction offices of the Division of Minerals and Geology [Room 215, 1313 Sherman

<br />81501, (970) 242-5025]. Written comments regarding this application may be submitted to and
<br />additional information may be obtained from the Denver office of the Division of Minerals and

<br />must be received by the Division of Minerals and Geology within 10 days after the date of this
<br />publication in order to be considered.
