December 23, 1992
Division of Minerals and Geology
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
ATTN: Mr. Gregg Squire
Dear Gregg,
~ iii iiiiiiiiiiiu iii
RECEIVE: p
DEC 2 g 1992
.~~ ~ ~;,•.;.,, o~
NEF,„_ .
~ Gz0ln3V
In accordance with our telephone conveilsation this morning, I
am sending you the following statements for attachment to
Holnam's Application for Amendment to Permit No. 77-398:
1. The present bonded area of 683 acres represents the 571.3
acres of disturbed post-law land in the Boettcher quarry,
plus 39.7 acres which were inadvertently disturbed beyond
the permit boundary, plus 77 newly-bonded acres within
the original permit boundary, which bonding was
originally applied for in October, 1991. This represents
all of the currently disturbed land for which reclamation
liability exists. It will be several years before any
disturbance is anticipated outside of the permitted area.
As in the past, Holnam will contact the Division and bond
any additional area before disturbing it.
2. In estimating the reclamation bond amount, it is
agreeable to Holnam that the entire 683 bonded acres be
considered for seeding. The recommendations you made for
augmenting the seed mix, both by species and quantity of
seed, are acceptable to Holnam.
If you have any further questions or suggestions, please
call.
Very tr y yours,
Paul E. Thomsen
Plant Engineer
Holnam Inc
cc: Berhan Keffelew
