State Reg.
C selectively handled suitable spoil topdressing may be required
in the Wolf Creek area when very strong (pH < 5 and ABP <-5)
acidity exists. Also, since phosphorus and nitrogen levels
were low, a fertilizer supplement may be required. However,
this may not be required if sufficient levels of N, P, and K
exist in the topsoil. This spoil, overlaid with 12 to 18
inches of replaced topsoil, will possess favorable physical and
chemical qualities and will be a desirable plant root growth
medium.
Finally, geochemical data indicates that regrading of spoils
will not significantly alter the groundwater quality. This is
described thoroughly in the Groundwater Section of Tab 7.
Tab 7 delineates the groundwater system at the Seneca II Mine
and relates it to the regional groundwater system.
C
r
6-34 Revised 10/1/66
