16. In reviewing the Pond HC Plan View and Section B-B' Shaft Sediment Pond on Map 39,
what is to prevent surface runoff from the Hubbazd Creek road ditch or from the
adjoining azea from entering sediment pond HC through the emergency spillway?
17. Please provide a copy of the NPDES permit for pond HC when it is obtained. As a
reminder, if the NPDES permit only pertains to the treatment of surface runoff, then no
ground water that is encountered in the construction of the vent shaft or mine water can
be treated in the sediment pond.
18. In the Elevation-Capacity-Dischazge Table on page Exh-8-217, the azea is designated as
being in acres but the values appeaz to be in squaze feet. Likewise, in the same table, the
capacity is listed as being in acre-feet but the values appeaz to be in cubic feet. Please
clarify.
Rule 4.05.2 -Water Ouality Standards aad Effluent Limitations
19. What plan will BRL use to deal with any water encountered during construction, either
from ground water or from the rock drill water used in construction?
If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
~u-a°"r~
osep J. )~i dash
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Jim Stover P.E.(J.E.
