The blasting technique will be the same as for the original permit.
2. Drainage diversion II modified will be used. Further study has been
completed by Water Resource Consultants which will provide a better drain-
age system. This will be a slight modification of alternative II. A copy
of this study is attached.
This system will divert drainage either around the mining area or use the
upper portion of the mining area to channel water into the natural streams.
/3. Overburden from the first mining phase (bench) will be temporarily
stockpiled immediately adjacent to the working area. As soon as the first
bench provides sufficient space, the overburden will be used to backfill
the bench to provide the "built-up" portion of the bench as shown in the
bench cross section of the reclamation plan. Please understand that only
-the top three or four benches wil} be backfilled iri this ways. This is to
help mitigate the visual impact of the mined area for residents who may be
able to see the results of the mining. As the mining progresses, all of
the overburden will be taken from newly mined areas directly to the areas
undergoing reclamation.
Resource Engineering 8 Environmental Services
's~"~~:
