Dear Ms. Nelson:
Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised
Statutes, the Mined Land Reclamation Division hereby issues notice that on
January 13, 1992, a technical revision application for a permit to conduct
coal mining operations, File No. C-81-048 (TR - 009), by Trinidad Basin
Mining, Route 1, Box 300, Barbourville, KY 40906, was deemed complete for the
purposes of filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act
and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing. The
revision proposes to leave sediment ponds as permanent impondments on the
residential portion of the permit area.
The applicant proposes to revise surface coal mining operations on S 1/2 of
the N 1/2 and the 5 1/2 of Section 15; NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 21, and
all of Section 22, T31S, R65W of the 6th P.M. in Las Animas County, Colorado.
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map
of Del Agua and Trinidad. A copy of the technical revision application is
available for public inspection at the Las Animas County Courthouse, First St
& Maple Street, Trinidad, CO. Written comments may be submitted and
additional information may be obtained from the Mined Land Reclamation
Division, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303)
