LOng <br />Division of Water Resources D~reaor <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 813 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Re: Southfield Mine (Permit No. C-81-014) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 3 (RN-3) <br />Dear Mr. Simpson: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, <br />Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 2, 1999, an application to renew an existing permit <br />to conduct coal mining operations at the Southfield Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate <br />from [his date of filing. <br />Energy Fuels Coal, Inc. proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located <br />approximately 7 miles south of Florence. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Mine Area: <br />Portions of Sections 19, 30, and 31; Township 205, Range 69N of the 6th P.M.; Sections 23, 24,25,26, and 36; <br />Township 205, Range 70 W of the 6th P.M. <br />Loadout: <br />Portions of Sections 17 and 18; Township 195, Range 69W of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Rockvale. <br />Energy Fuels Coal, Inc. has submitted an application for the renewal of the Southfield Mine permit, No. C-81-014 <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Fremont County Courthouse, 615 Macon <br />Avenue, Room B-5, Canon City, CO 81212, and at the Division office.
