Bowie No. l Mine, Permit No. C-81-038, Bowie Resources Limited
I am requesting your assistance in the review of the bond release calculation for SL-02
for Bowie Resources Limited (BRL). This is a partial phase one bond release request for
the Bowie No. 1 Mine. SL-02 involves structural demolition at the East Mine, West Mine
and the West Mine fan site, with backfilling and grading of a portion of the West Mine.
In addition, the vent shaft at the West Mine fan site has been backfilled.
Attached are the two submittals for SL-02. The first submittal is dated September 24,
2002 and the second is dated November 5, 2002.
If you would like to see pictures of the mine site to help in your review, Harry Ranney
flew the mine site on November 21, 2002. The aerial photos are located at
m:/coaUjjd/aerialpittures/38-Bowie-1/11-21-02. The aerial photos for the East Mine aze
numbered 0119 through 0124. For the West Mine, the pictures are numbered 0125 and
0126, although the West Mine fan site is not shown. There are more aerial photographs at
m:/coaUjjd/aerial pictures/38-Bowie-1/09-26-02. The West Mine fan site is shown on
images 0029 and 0030. Please let me know if you need additional information.
