Paabody
Twentymile Coal Company
29515 Routt County Road #27
Oak Creek, CO 80467
970.879.3800
July 3, 2007
Mr. Byron Walker
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: (303) 866-4941
RECEIVED
JUL 0 6 2UU7
Division ofa d Safety n,
Mining
RE: Foidel Creek Mine (Permit No. C-82-056) -Minor Revision (MR07-217) for Expansion of Existing
Warehouse Facility
Deaz Mr. Walker:
Twentymile Coal Company (TCC) requests CDRMS approval of a Minor Revision to our approved Permit for
expansion of our existing Wazehouse facility, The expansion will involve the addition ofa 3,950 squaze foot (158 x
25 foot) enclosed extension of the current pallet-rack storage azea, and the addition ofa 1,520 square foot (95 x 16
foot) covered shed storage azea. Both additions will connect to the existing Wazehouse structure as shown on Figure
EX49H-Fl. The Wazehouse expansion will provide needed additional temporary storage space for the parts and
supplies necessary to support both the permitted mine expansion and the new Washplant (TR07-60).
The proposed Wazehouse expansion azeas will be contained within the existing disturbed azea "envelope" defined by
the outer edges of the current Warehouse facility, and will result in no new surface disturbance. Construction will
involve limited excavation for the floor slab for the enclosed extension, shallow drilling for concrete support piers for
both the enclosed extension and the covered shed storage, forming and pouring the piers and floor slab, erection of the
pre-fabricated support frames for both extensions, and placement and connection of the metal sheathing walls and
roof. At such time as the Warehouse facility is no longer needed to support ongoing or future mining and related
operations, or permitted as a permanent facility to support the postmining land uses, it will be demolished, and the
associated disturbance azeas reclaimed.
This submittal includes revised PAP text, exhibits, and maps, addressing the location, configuration, operation,
maintenance, and reclamation of the proposed Wazehouse expansion. New and revised PAP materials are identified
by the attached Smnmary of Revisions/Additions. TCC would like to proceed with this project as soon as possible, so
that construction can be completed under favorable weather and ground conditions. After you have opportunity to
review the accompanying information, please feel free to contact me with any questions or to discuss submittal
materials or related matters.
Best regards,
Twent oal Co any
Je - .
