.=' <br />Section I -History <br />On February I5, 1991, the Honeywood Coal Company and Lillylands. Inc. submitted an <br />application for a coal mining and reclamation permit to conduct surface mining operations at the <br />Hamilton Mine at Naturita, Colorado. The application was approved on February 10, 1992. On <br />December 22, 1992, the ownership of the mine was transferred to the Honeywood Coal <br />Company. Honeywood applied for the right of successive renewal in 1996 and Pemit Renewal <br />Ol was approved on March 17, 1997. The current permit will expire on February 19, 2002. <br />Mining operations commenced in March 1992 and continued through July 1993 when the mine's <br />contract with the Nucla Power Plant was not renewed. A decision by the Honeywood Coal <br />Company to cease mining operations and completely reclaim the mine was. made in July 1993. <br />Reclamation efforts were completed in late December 1993. <br />During the time of the current permit period, no enforcement action have been tllcen. <br />Section II -Revisions to the Permit <br />Since Permit Renewal Ol was issued, Honeywood Coal Company has submitted and a Division <br />decision has been made for the following revisions: <br />Minor Revision No. 07 was received on September 27, 1997. The revision approved the mine to <br />augment their seeding for the fall of 1997. <br />Technical Revision No. 07 was received on June 14, 1999. This revision approved the <br />suspension of ground water monitoring at the minesite until two years prior to the submittal of a <br />request for final bond release. <br />Section III - Status of St~ulations <br />The permit was issued without any conditions or stipulations. <br />Section IV -Permit Variances <br />There were no variances granted for mining or reclamation activities. <br />
