DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
David H. Getchea. Exeoutrve Director
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
DAVID C. SH ELTON, Director
Richard D. Lamm
Governor
April 22, 1986
Mr. Terry Sullivan
Yampa Mining Company
P.O. Box HH
Hayden, Colorado 81639
Re: Permit Renewal of Hayden Gulch Mine File No. C-80-003
Dear Mr. Sullivan:
It has come to my attention that the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division
permit for Hayden Gulch Mine expires on January 4, 1987. It will be necessary
to re-apply fora new permit on or before June 4, 1986 to ensure that a new
permit is in place at the termination of the current permit. The new permit
should predominantly cover monitoring and maintenance issue associated with
the reclaimed mine.
The Division requests that our copies of the permit be updated during permit
review with all the revisions submitted during the previous permit.
Additionally, we ask fora commitment to the submittal of an Annual
Reclamation Report which discusses the acreage of earthwork and revegetation
conducted during the previous year. The Division is also interested in having
a spring and seep survey performed on an annual basis in order to evaluate the
development of a spoils aquifer at the mine.
Please consider the issues you would like to address in the new permit and
call me to set up a time fora pre-application meeting. I am looking forward
to hearing from you.
Sincerely
Catherine W.
