SHELTON, Director <br />October 27, 1987 <br />Routt County Commissioners <br />522 Lincoln Box 773598 <br />Steamboat Springs, CO 80477 <br />Re: Eckman Park No 1 8 2 Coal Mine Permit Renewal - Permit No. C-81-071 <br />Dear Routt County Commissioners: <br />Pursuant to Rule 2.07.4(3)(d) of the regulations of the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board for Coal Mining, you are hereby notified that the Colorado <br />Mined Land Reclamation Division is proposing to renew a valid, existing coal <br />mining and reclamation permit which was originally issued to Colorado Yampa _ <br />Coal Company (CYCC) on December 14, 1981 for the Eckman Park No 1 8 2 Mine. <br />The renewal will allow CYCC to continue operations within the approved permit <br />boundary for an additional 5 year permit term. <br />The Eckman Park No. 1 8 2 operation is located in Routt County, approximately <br />twenty miles southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The mine is a surface <br />mine with an anticipated maximum production capacity of 1.2 million tons per <br />year. The coal to be mined is federally owned, and the surface to be affected <br />is federally and privately owned. The permit area encompasses approximately <br />7,050.0 acres in Sections 7, 8, 9, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 30 of T4N, R86W; Section <br />13, 24 and 25 of T4N, R87W; Sections 19, 20, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33 and 34 of <br />T5N, R96W and Sections 24, 25 and 36 of T5N, R87!~I. <br />This proposed renewal decision is based on a finding that the operation will <br />comply with all reQUirements of the Colorado Surface Mining Declamation Act, <br />C.R.S. 34-33-101, et sea., and the regulations promulgated thereunder. <br />If you have any ouestions, plea s2 contact me. <br />Sincerely/ <br />~.^~~%~ <br />~~ <br />Dan Mathews <br />Reclamation Specialist <br />5478G <br />a23 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Slreet Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
