As per your Decemb°r 2 letter, <br />enclosed please find the original increase in bond #400JU7492 for the Owl Canyon <br />Quarry in the amount of $439,500 with a new total penalty in the amount of <br />$522,000. This is as requested. <br />Also enclosed please find the original bond increase for bond #4OOJU7490 <br />for the Rex Quarry, an increase in the amount of $553,140 bringing the total penalty <br />to $654,000. This is as requested. <br />Both these bond increases are submitted under protest and without any <br />admission that the warranty for each quarry should be increased. Specifically, we <br />do not agree with the amount of increase as requested in your November 19, 1997 <br />letter and the interim bonds requested in your December 2 letter. <br />As per the regulations, we request that the matter on the request for financial <br />warranty increase be submitted to a hearing before the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board. Please consider this letter as a formal request fcr hearing. <br />From our perspective, there is no urgency for a hearing before the Board. Instead, I <br />
