Banta.
Drv~sion Director
After reviewing the Roberts Quarry File, it was noted that Colorado Lien
Company intended to place this quarry into a status of Temporary Cessation.
The procedures for placing a mine in temporary cessation outlined in
Rule 1.6.2(2)(a) were not followed, and Division records still show the status
to be active.
Your October 23, 1989 Annual Report stated that the "quarry is in temporary
cessation". The rule mentioned above states that "The operator shall submit,
in writing, to the Division, a Notice of Temporary Cessation as required in
Rule 1,6.2. The Notice shall state the date of cessation, the reasons
therefore, a plan for resumption of mining and the measures to be taken to
comply with reclamation requirements and/or other site maintenance activities
related to the performance standards of Rule 6 while the mine is in temporary
cessation. The Notice shall be separate from any other correspondence or
reports submitted to the Division". If the quarry is in Temporary Cessation,
please use this procedure to notify the Division so that Division records can
reflect the proper status.
Please call if you have questions.
Sincerely,
~~ ~: G~~
~~
Larry D.
