Parts of the permit need
to be update:.{ to i ndi Cate Bear Coal Comp a..^.y's ;r.i ni n~ plans fcr t:1e upcemi na
five year permit term. Comments regardirg Bear's reclamation plan generally
concern improving the specificity or clarity of the plan.
In order- to maintain a sirgle, comprehensive, concise and intelligible permit
application document, Sear is requested tc submit any revised section< in a
fnr,•^at which can be easily inserted into the original permit application
. of ;..,,^: Thy r~•ri red slaps a; d pages should be i r,d i sated as such. Th i s system
or revision has been successfully used by other operators during the permit
renewal process.
The Division has the following adequacy concerns with respect to the Bear
permit:
Bear Coal Company needs to submit an updated legal description of the
permit area as it currently exists. This information will be submitted
into the permit application and the permit document. The acreages of
permitted and disturbed land should also be submitted. The boundary
change in Technical Revision No. 1 has relocated the permit boundary to
the west while relocation of state highway 133 and changes in reclamation
responsibilities have altered the permit boundary along the north and
east edges of the permit. This information is necessary to define the
laid within the Bear permit. The legal description should ~ncTude a1T
parts of Bear No. 1, Bear No. 2 and Bear No. 3 within the permit
including any lands that have been or will be mined.
X23 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
