The following is our understanding <br />of the status of outstanding items and an expected time frame for responding to those items <br />which require a response front BMRI. <br />I. Outstanding Technical Revisions <br />A. TR-1 S Monitoring groundwater beneath tailings facility upon closure. 1dMRI is in <br />the process of reviewing the status and determilting an appropriate response to outstaa!rttding <br />comments on TR-15. Our initial review indicates that drilling and monitoring of the angle holes <br />may not be as effective as. originally hoped. We are revisiting other methods to accomplish the <br />monitoring objectiyeg, , We.hope to have respohs25 back to yoti by September. . <br />B. TR-17 Process Fluirl Transfer Procedures. Ourle[fer to the Division dated July 7, <br />1995 should:answer all of the Divisions concerhs and'r"ortiinants.l • "=; ~~ -.:,.~ ,.,: - <br />C. TR-18 Permit,Modification, Partial backfilling of West Pit. Additional ~eochemical <br />information and request for conditional approval ~1vi11'tie'sent fo the Division July 12, 199. <br />D. TR-22 Environmental Protection.Plan. We have received your comments on TR-22 <br />and are in the process of gathering additional information. BMRI expects to have re#ponses to <br />yotl by the end of July. <br />II. Outstanding issues from 1992 N.O.V. <br />It is our understanding that the abatement schedule is no longer required. Apthough we <br />have not received written comments from the Division olt our initial Reclamation Evtaluation <br />Report, we did meet with the Urvision and we are prepaying a suntrnary of rasporses to <br />comments raised by the Division during the meeting. We expect to have this submittal ready i1t <br />early September. Should you seltd us something prior to September we will be prep#red to <br />answer any of your questions in [his submittal as well. <br />III. Other outstanding issues <br />A. Phase II Raise I approval. We appreciate receiving approval for Phase 1~ raise I and <br />consider that issue resolved. <br />B. M-14 water level readings. A letter regarding water level readings of M~14 will be <br />sent under separate cover,. <br />C. INCO monitoring: Difterent regliireittcnt;-for INCO monitoring were contained in <br />TR-006 and TR-010. Since TR-006. was approved after TR-0! 0 there ha; been som@ confusion <br />over which requirements apply.
