Please respond to
the following comments by June 27, 2001 so the decision due date set far June 30 can be met.
If you cannot respond by June 27'h, please submit a written request for extension of the decision
due date. If your response, or an extension request are not received by June 27, 2001, the
application may be denied.
ADEQUACY COMMENTS
1 . The application maps do not meet the requirements of Rules 6.2.1(21, 6.4.4 and 6.4.6. Please
submit new maps that include all permit areas from the original area through Phase 2 of the
BLM South Lot. The current permit maps do not coincide with each other, are confusing and
will most likely lead to non-compliance problems in the future.
2. The maps required above will need to accurately delineate all property boundaries, the original
permit boundary, and the boundaries of each area added by Amendments 1, 2, and 3. Also,
the maps must show the accurate location of the AM-03 boundaries which are being clarified
by completion of this technical revision. The contour interval on the new maps should be no
less than 10 feet and preferably 5 feet. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT AM-03 INCREASED THE
PERMIT AREA BY 40 ACRES, OF WHICH 10 HAVE ALREADY BEEN MINED. IF THE BLM
SOUTH LOT ACREAGE IS GREATER THAN 30 ACRES, AN AMENDMENT APPLICATION TO
_TH_I_S PERMIT WILL NEED TO BE SUBMITTED AND APPROVED PRIOR TO MINING OUTSIDE
THE 40 ACRE AM-03 BOUNDARY
3. There are two bond calculations enclosed with this review which were based on information
from all past permitting for this site. The current inadequate maps were also used which may
cause these figures to be inaccurate and result in changes to these figures when the new
maps are submitted. The calculation for the original permit area, plus the AM-01 and AM-02
areas specifies the amount of bond that DMG will need to hold upon approval of this technical
revision (588,876).
This bond amount will only be adequate if the BLM reclamation and performance bond is
submitted to, and accepted by the BLM by July 30, 2001 ,and if the west working face
