Lo„s <br />Division Director <br />RE: Technical Revision Submittal TR-003, American Soda, L.L.P., <br />Yankee Gulch Sodium Minerals Project, Permit No. M-1999-002 <br />Dear Mr. Ehmann: <br />Please find enclosed a copy of the technical revision application submitted by American Soda, L.L.P. on <br />August 2, 2000. The technical revision is intended to incorporate ambient ground water data from within <br />and around the Yankee Gulch Project site into the reclamation permit and to establish permit conditions <br />protective of ground water. The Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) will accept written comments on <br />the technical revision in accordance with Rules ].7.1 and 1.7.2 of the Hard Rock/Metal Mining Rules and <br />Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board (Board). The inclusion of Rule 1.7.2 in the <br />public comment procedures for this technical revision is the result of a Board Order issued at the time the <br />reclamation permit application was approved on June 23, 1999. Based on American Soda's intended <br />newspaper publication date of August 3, 2000 (see enclosure and Rule 1.6.2(d)), public comments must be <br />received by the DMG no later than 4:00 p.m. on August 14, 2000 to be considered in the application review <br />process (Rule 1.7.2(2)). ' <br />In accordance Stipulation No. 1 to Yankee Gulch Project Reclamation Permit No. M-1999-002, the <br />technical revision application will be considered by the Board in a Formal Public Hearing to be convened on <br />August 24, 2000. The hearing will begin at 9:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as possible considering the <br />Board's agenda. The hearing will be held in Room 318 of the Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Denver.
