I'm glad to hear [hat you found [he "alternative" surface reclamation
documents. As we discussed earlier, this will have a big impact on the cost to reclaim
this site.
I will try to answer some of your questions about this site. Virtually all of the on site
rubble has been backfilled into the mined area. The top two plus feet has been covered
with dirt from the over burden pile and graded to the final grade. The slopes of the
backfilled area are at the natural angle of repose (probably about 2 horizontal to 1
vertical). As more rubble is brought to the site it will be pushed over these same slopes
so there is no advantage to flattening them at this time. This work would need to be
covered by the reclamation bond. I believe that this task could be done with a Cat 320
Excavator in about two days.
Once the current stockpiles of gravel are used up, we will continue mining and the size of
the pond may increase, However, the amount of work to reclaim the edge of the pond
will not change very much because of the on going back filling operations.
I have included some pictures [hat may help you to see what the pit looks like now. I
have also revised your cost summary form to show my "best guess" a[ what it would cost
to reclaim this site. I hope this information is helpful in your new bond recalculation. If
you have any questions please call.
Sincerely,
~~;=~
Alan Parkerson
