13.0 EXHIBIT L -RECLAMATION COSTS
The estimated reclamation costs are based on the reclamation plan presented in this amendment.
The permitted site contains a total of 73.7 acres. Of the 73.7 acres, approximately 14.11 acres
will remain undisturbed by mining activity. Of the 56.52 disturbed acres, approximately 36.89
acres have been disturbed and 19.63 acres will be disturbed by future work. At the completion
of reclamation, the site will consist of approximately 10.27 acres as undisturbed edges, 3.84
acres as the undisturbed top of the existing cinder cone, 9.59 acres of flat azea, and 50 acres as
the sloped, hummocky cinder cone. Much of the sloped area that will "reform" the cinder cone
will have been sloped, at least to some degree, during the placement of the screen undersized
material. In order to approximate the amount of work and cost required at the completion of
mining, Lafazge has assumed that 25 acres will require "total" sloping.
For the purposes of estimating the reclamation liability, it has been assumed that all but 50,000
cubic yards of the screen undersize has been replaced into mined out aeeas prior to closure. This
50,000 cubic yards of material represents the existing stockpiles of material from previous
operators and temporary stockpiles from the existing operation. This assumption is in keeping
with the current operating practices at the site. Currently, the screen undersized is directly
loaded into dump trucks from the screening plant and replaced into mined out areas. The
replaced screen undersize material is end dumped and will need dozing to create the final
reclamation slopes. No costs have been assigned to the processing equipment as it is comprised
of a mobile equipment spread that is fully portable and no permanent fixtures aze associated with
it. At the request of the State Land Board, Lafarge has included a cost for the removal of the
spur from their property. Since the removal of the spur from the State Land Board land will
leave a portion of the spur isolated, and therefore unusable, on the Schickli and Wolf leases,
Lafarge has included the cost of removing this track also. However, Lafarge desires to leave the
removal of the track from the Schickli and Wolf property up to the property owners at the time
mining ceases.
Reclamation Estimate:
Unit Total
As ect Reclamation O eration uantit Units Cost $ Cost $
A Reclaimed Mining Surfaces
1.
