Long Denver, CO 80202 Division Director Re: Colowyo Coal Mine (Permit No. C-81-019) Bond Release Application No. 2 Reference: Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology letter of April 27, 1998, same subject Dear Mr. Rollings: • The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) issued a proposed decision to approve Bond Release Application No. 2 at the Colowyo Coal Mine. This proposed decision was published in the Craig Daily Press on May 6, 1998. Subsequently, page 18 of the Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance was revised. Specifically, line 10 on page 18 was changed, in part, from "there were adverse effects" to read "there were no adverse effects". Please find a revised cover page and page 18 of the Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance enclosed. The proposed decision will become final at the close of a thirty (30) day public comment period, which commences with the initial publication of the notice of revision, in the Craig Daily Press. Since this mine is a federal mine, our decision is subject to the concurrence of OSM, and the signature of an authorized OSM representative is required for release of reclamation liability. Therefore, the Division respectfully requests that OSM notify the Division of concurrence or nonconcurrence prior to the end of the public comment period.
