(Lafarge) is requesting a Technical Revision to our existing North
Delta Pit Permit to include a Weed Control Plan, as you requested in an August 9, 2005
site inspection.
The complete Weed Control Plan is enclosed and includes the following measures:
-Weed populations will be monitored and identified for control. An annual Weed
Control Plan will be developed accordingly, and follow-up evaluations and
documentation will be completed to monitor control success.
-Herbicide application will mainly be used on perennial forb species such as
Canada Thistle, Field Bindweed, Whitetop, and Perennial Peppergrass, as well as
annual forbs like Russian Knapweed. Tamarisk will be controlled with a foliar
application of Arsenal and Habitat and will be sprayed between the months of
June and September. Russian Olive will be cut down and the stump will be
treated with Garlon and Pathfinder. If, after control methods have been
applied, there are still populations of weedy species remaining, subsequent
applications will be completed.
Lafarge will continue to work with you and the Division of Minerals and Geology to
resolve this and any other issues in a timely manner. Please feel free to contact me at 303-
657-4143 if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Noel Weisenbacher
Mapping and Weed Specialist
REC~~ yED
DEC t g ~
Division of Wlinerola and Ceoldgl,
CC: File 813-437Rod Johnson-Carbondale
Enclosures:
-Complete Weed Control Plan
