(WECC) requests a minor
revision to Permit C-80-007 to change the name of West
Elk Coal Company, Inc. to Mountain Coal Company (MCC)
and Mt. Gunnison No. 1 Mine to West Elk Mine. WECC &
Beaver Creek Coal Company, Inc., WECC's sister mine in
Price, Utah, were merged on April 1, 1991, and the name
changed. Both WECC & Beaver Creek Coal Company
continue to legally do business under the original
names.
Page 1-161 has been revised, (replacing pages 1-161 &
1-161a), listing the current directors and company
management. WECC has contracted with Greystone
Consultants to update, restructure and condense the
permit documents and assist WECC with the renewal
adequacy questions. During this updating process, all
references in the text to the company and mine name
will be changed. Some previously issued maps,
drawings, tables, etc. may retain the WECC and/or Mt.
Gunnison No. 1 Mine names. A statement will be made in
the updated permit that WECC and Mt. Gunnison No. 1
Mine are the same as Mountain Coal Company and West Elk
Mine, respectively.
Within 90 days, the Company and Mine names will be
changed on the mine identification sign. Permit
boundary signs which presently state "West Elk Coal
Company Permit Boundary", will gradually be replaced as
normal maintenance is required.
AMC0920~
