February 1998 Hoyden Culch Mine "Phase 2 fs 3 Bond Reltase Application ~ Pape 4
IS) Dates Reclamation Work Performed:
• • Map 1, Phase Il/Phase III Bond Release Map, includes the reclamation sequence
and shows the yeaz when reclamation of the mine site and facilities area was
completed. In general, reclamation at the Hayden Gulch Mine was performed
between 1979 to 1987, however, sedimentation ponds 001 and 002 were
reclaimed during October 1996. Work performed, were applicable, included
facility removal, backfilling, regrading, topsoil placement, establishment of
drainage control, and revegetation.
16)
• Reclamation activities completed at the mine followed the approved
reclamation plan. Various Annual Reclamation reports and DMG inspections
serve to document the effectiveness of the reclamation activities.
Subsequent to reclamation, HGCC performed vegetation sampling of the
reclaimed mine site and facility areas during 1990, 1993, 1996, and 1997. The
1993 vegetation sampling indicated an improvement in revegetation cover over
the 1990 sampling and overall excellent revegetative success (Hayden Gulch
Mine, 1993 Annual Report, HGCC, February 1994). The results of the 1996 and
1997 vegetation sampling aze included in Exhibit 1, Reclamation Study for
Final Bond Release. This exhibit contains the report, 1996 and 1997
• Reclamation Study for Final Bond Release Report, prepared by Intermountain
Resources. Results of the studies confirm that specific reclamation success
standards for vegetative cover, production and species diverstry were met for
both yeazs using statistical equations approved by DMG. The data also
indicates that the shrub density standard of 200 stems per acre has been
achieved for the reclamation parcel.
17) Copies Of The Written Notice To Seek Release To Parties Identified In Rule 3.03.2(1):
• A copy of the proposed bond release application notification letter and a listing
of the interested parties identified in Rule 3.03.2(1) aze included in Section 2.0.
As required under Rule 3.03.2(1), written notification was sent to the interested
parties prior to filing this bond release request. Copies of the certified mail
receipu are included in Exhibit 2, Notice to Interested Parties.
18) Copy Of NewspayerAdvertisement:
• A copy of the proposed public notice is included in Section 3.0. The public
notice will be published weekly for four (4) consecutive weeks in the Steamboat
Pilot. The Proof of Publication will be submitted to the DMG as soon as
HGCC receives notarized receipt of publication.
LJ
hfontgomery Watson Amcricas (dba TerraMatrizJ • P.O.
