CO 1641 Iri~isinn Di~eclor <br />Re: Deserado Mine (Permit No. C-81-018) <br />Tcrhnical Revision Application \u. ~ <br />Drill Vent Holes Panel LW10 <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 24, 1997, art application to revise coal mining <br />operations at the Deserado Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted <br />by Western Fuels Utah. Inc.. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations <br />initiate from this date of filing. <br />The proposal would relocate previously approved de-gas venthole LW 10-I and allow for drilling of an additional <br />six ventholes over longwall panel #10 (LW 10-2 to LW 10-7). Approximately 1.4 acres would be disturbed by <br />drill pads, and 1.1 acres by light use roads [o access the sites. All disturbed areas are within the existing mine <br />permit boundary. Drainage control and site reclamation is addressed in the application. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 10 miles east of Raneely. Colorado, <br />within T2N, R101W, and T3N, RIOIW, 6th P.M. in Rio Blanco County. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map entitled "Rangely NE". <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection a[ the Town Clerks Office. Town <br />Hall, in Rangely, and a[ the Division office.
