<br />EXHIBIT K <br />Climate Information <br />This area is characterized by an average annual precipitation of <br />about 12 to 15 inches. Of this 35~ to 45~ falls as snow, and 40% <br />to 45% falls between May 1 and September 30. Summer moisture is <br />mostly from thundershowers in late July, August and September. A <br />dry period from May to early July is typical, and June is normally <br />the driest month. Wide yearly and monthly deviations are common. <br />Active growth of the major native plant species usually starts in <br />April and extends through most of June. However, for some plants <br />active growth ends in late May. Many plants can again take <br />advantage of late summer rains if in good vigor. <br />Mean annual temperatures are about 47 to 52 degrees Fahrenheit. <br />The frost-free period is 100 to 135 days. Annual range in <br />temperature is usually from about 90 degrees to -15 degrees <br />Fahrenheit, although higher and lower extremes are sometimes <br />recorded. A few areas are warmer and slightly more moist than <br />typical. <br />
