After careful
~Am~tion of the information contained within the application, I have identified
several significam: issues that were either excluded from discussion or were gossly
inadequately addressed. The applicants do not address the following issues; and until
tlielr~8ve been thoroughly addressed and responses have been made available to the
mtiaeas of Lyons and Boulder County, an issuance of a 112 Mmuog Permit can not
be made.
I am employed as a consultant by several large mining corporations to ensure that
environmental compliance occurs and the heahh of the community and the
environment is protected. The Colorado Division of Mining and Geology must hold
all mine applications to the same degree of scrutiny and must allow the public the
opportunity to comment prior to the issuance of any applications.
Issues:
r~~
No Mme Plan - No discussion of a mine plan is made within the conversion
application. VVithout a mine plan no citizen or the Colorado Division of Mining
and Geology c:an make an educated evaluation of the effects the increased mining
operations would have on the environment or the corrununity. Without this
~ ~~
