<br />Bowie Resources Limited., P.O. Box 483, Paonia, CO, 81428, has submitted an application
<br />for a permit revision to the Division of Minerals and Geology for its Bowie No. 2 Mine, mining
<br />permit No. C-96-083. The proposed revision will provide the operator flexibility to employ
<br />both room and pillar and longwall mining techniques. This revision will not increase the 2.0
<br />million ton per year permitted production.
<br />All of the mine facilities except a pump station are located immediately north of old State
<br />Highway 133 near the town of Bowie, CO. The Fire Mountain Canal is located south of the
<br />mine facilities. The railroad and the North Fork of the Gunnison River are also located south
<br />of the mine facilities. The mine permit area is located on the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5
<br />minute Bowie Quadrangle map within the following sections.

<br />The Bowie No. 2 Mine permit area contains 2406 acres of land. Of this total, 2058 acres are
<br />private and 348 acres are Federal.

<br />and Recorder's office, 5th and Palmer, Delta CO, and at the offices of the Division of Minerals

<br />comments, objections or a request for an informal conference on the proposed permit
