R loose dry density of the subject material ras <br />determined by measurements to be 99.0 pcf. Classification testing determined <br />that the suple ras a Sand, rith silt and gravel, rith a Unified Classification <br />of SY-SM, and an 1115MT0 Classification of 11-1-a (0). <br />Direct shear testing ras performed on three samples of -~~ sieve size material <br />compacted to 116.0 dry pcf at 10.51 moisture. These samples rere sbeared at <br />normal stresses of 4 ksf, i kaf and 8 ksf, respectively, at a rate o! 1.7 : <br />30-• inches pet minute.
