Ken Coa! Company
Ken (Man) Mine - Grating Plan
AREA AND CONTROL MEASURES
Kerr proposes to fence and graze an area of approximately 160 acres of
fee land as delineated on the accompanying copy of the 1990
Reclamation Map. The area to be grazed encompasses approximately
105 acres of reclaimed land and 55 acres of native range. Livestock
movements will be controlled by electric fencing to be established on the
north and south ends of the proposed management area. The additional
fence will tie to existing fence-lines paralleling the east and west permit
boundaries.
Kerr is not presently using the existing main road for haulage south of Pit
1. Limited access requirements for the shop area and southern part of
the mine area will be addressed through construction of temporary gates
at the two points shown on the accompanying map.
The fenced area will encompass existing Sedimentation Pond D. This
pond normally contains water year-round and will serve as the primary
water source for livestock during grazing use. As discussed in
subsequent sections, Kerr plans to limit the period of grazing use and it
is not anticipated that a supplemental water source will be required.
However, if supplemental watering becomes necessary, Kerr will use a
water truck to transfer water from the supply well or Pond A to either
Pond D or a temporary stock tank.
2
