(Page 2}
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1999-n4~
INSPECTION DATE; n~/~nF INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: ~AS-
OBSERVATIONS
1. A site inspection of the Adamson Brothers Pit was conducted in response to a response by the Landowner (Adamson
Bros & Sons Feedlot) to transfer the permit from Yuma County to Adamson Bros & Sons Feedlot. Present during the
inspection was Mr. Paul Like of Yuma County Road & Bridge Department. Photographs of the site were taken and are
attached to this report.
2. The Adamson Brothers Pit is an active pit with approximately 7-8 acres of surface disturbance. No groundwater has
been exposed thus far. The current operator has done a good job of contemporaneous reclamation by ball and
grading a significant portion of the pit highwalls to a 3:1 slope. All disturbances were found to be well within the 9.99
acre permit boundary. Available topsoil has been salvaged and stockpiled for use during final reclamation. This inspector
estimates 12,000 cubic yards of topsoil to be re-spread and 9 acres to be re-vegetated at final reclamation. The site will
ultimately be rec{aimed to rangeland. This inspector estimates a total reclamation cost of $ 9,400 to complete the
reclamation plan. This is the amount of financial warranty that Adamson Bros & Sons Feedlot will need to submit to
complete the Succession of Operator's process. (Please see attached reclamation cost estimate).
3. Mr. Like indicated that the landowner would prefer to leave the pit floor open and available for collection of effluent
from the adjacent, up-gradient feedlot, rather than to have the pit Floor topsoiled and re-vegetated. It is likely that such a
change will result in a change in the total estimated reclamation cost and required bond amount. To accommodate such
change, tfie current or future operator will need to submit a request for a technics{ revision to the reclamation plan. Such
request will need to include a $188 revision fee. The Division recommends that either party contact the Division first prior
to submittal of such request to discuss the logistics and timing of the revision submittal.
I 8~E Contact Address
NAME: Mr. Paul Like
OPERATOR: Yuma County
STREET: 1310 5.
