Box 321
Wray, CO 80758
RE: Adamson Brothers Mine, Permit No. M-1999-047, Succession of Operators
Class: Revision Type-Seq.: SO-I
Dear Mr. Adamson:
COLORADO
DIVISION O F
MIN SRALS
GEOLOGY
0.EC LAM ATION•NINING
SAFETY•ECIENCE
Bill Owens
Governor
Russell George
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cottony
Division Director
Nazurel Resource Trustee
The Division has reviewed your request to transfer the mining and reclamation permit for M-1999-047
from Yuma County to Adamson Brothers & Sons Feedlot. We note that you have selected tion A on
your Succession of Operators Application Farm and have elected to have the Division recalculate the
Financial Warranty requirements. Based on the approved mining and reclamation plan, the Division has
calculated a total reclamation cost of $9,400. (Please see attached reclamation cost estimate). Therefore,
the Division will require a properly executed financial warranty of $9,400 in addition to the Performance
Warranty you have already provided in order to complete the permit transfer process.
We note that the pit is adjacent to a cattle feedlot and it is our understanding that you would prefer to
leave the pit floor open and available for collection of effluent from the adjacent, up-gradient feedlot,
rather than to have the pit floor topsoiled and re-vegetated. In order to accommodate such change, either
you or the current permtttee (Yuma County) must first submit a modification to your reclamation plan.
We advise that you (or Yuma County) consult with the Division prior to submittal of such a modification.
We also advise that you contact the Colorado Department of Health to determine any specific permitting
requirements they may have, if any, pertaining to construction and management of a feedlot effluent pit.
Please call me at (303) 866-3567 if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~~ Cf (f~~o siL2~' `/
Thomas A.
