RE: Adequacy Review, TR-35, Remove Train Loadout and Coal Stockpile From Permit, Bowie No. 1
Mine, Permit No. C-81-038, Bowie Resources Limited.
Dear Mr. Stover:
The Division has finished its review of the submittal dated November 5, 2001 for the Technical Revision
No. 35 submittal. The following are the Division's questions and comments:
1. On revised page 2.04-88, please omit the two remaining references to the railroad spur, one in [he
first paragraph and the other in the last paragraph.
2. Please provide a revised copy of Plate 14 of the Subsidence Handbook for insertion into Volume
3. This revised copy is missing in the submittal.
3. It is stated in the submittal that information pertinent to the Coal Gulch drainage should be
removed from the Bowie No. 1 Mine permit application. This includes material in Volume 5 and
Volume 5A. However, Map 5-1 shows that part of the Bowie No. 1 Mine permit area lies within
the Coal Gulch drainage basin. Please explain why this infotmation should be deleted from the
Bowie No. I Mine permit application.
4. Please provide a revised Table of Contents page for Volume 5. This revised page is missing in the
submittal.
5. The submittal states that Map 2-9 in Volume 2 is to be eliminated. This map shows the projected
mine plan, as well as other information, for Bowie No. 1. If there is information on this map that
is not duplicated on other maps, the Division believes that this map should not be eliminated.
Please comment.
6. It is stated in the submittal that the Diversion Records Summary and the Water Replacement Plan
should be removed from Volume SA. Should this removal refer only [o the information relevant to
the Coa] Gulch drainage? If it does, then please refer back to comment number 3 above.
7. There appear to be two corrections that are needed for the Table of Contents page for Volume 6A.
First, references to Maps 6A-SN, 6A-50 and 6A-SP are missing from the page. Also, it appears
that the title of the Geo-Hydro 1983 report is merged with the title for Map 6A-lA. Please revise.
