1
EXHIBIT D
' MINING AND MINING TIEtETABLE
History
This property was leased in 1957 and purchased in I96I, 1962
' and 1967 by the Robinson Brick and Tile Company (Robco) for the
sole purpose of extracting the underlying natural resource. It
was believed that clay of good quality could be extracted from
this site as the first step in a multiple sequential land use.
' The clay, to be used by Robco in its Denver plants, would be one
' source of supply to the growing metropolitan area of Denver for
forty to fifty years.
After the clay is extracted and the land is reclaimed by
Robco others will enjoy the land for various uses. Chief among
' these uses, we expect, will be residential sites.
' It was originally hoped that approximately two-thirds of the
total 140 acres owned by Robco would be underlain by commercial
' quality clay. After minimal exploration effort, mining started
in the southwestern part of the property (see 61ap Exhibit C-1) on
i July 23, 1957.
Clay extraction has been continuous since that time. Explora-
'
tion on the property has continued as well. An area of approximately
' 5 acres was explored (see Map Exhibit C-1 area 1-B) to determine
the quality and color of the clay existing away from the known
' mined area. Finally, in the first six months of 1980 extensive
coring and sample testing was carried on in a systematic pattern

on all Robco-owned land.
i1
6
'
