As you know, the DMG has requested that Aggregate Industries
resume groundwater monitoring at the site once dewatering ceases in the area of the 2001
diesel-fuel release to confirm that significant groundwater contamination is not present. The
following plan was developed based on the on-site meeting held on September 26, 2003; the
DMG's Inspection Report for that meeting; and a telephone conversation with you on
November 6, 2003. At this time, it is anticipated that cessation of the dewatering activities
will occur in 2005.
• Two (2) additional groundwater monitoring wells will be installed at the site for future
monitoring. Those wells will be installed on the northwest and southeast sides of the
former abatement excavation in the vicinity of soil samples North Wall West End and
South Wall Middle, respectively.
ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING AND GEOHYDROLOGY
